Reasons why external roll screens contribute to energy-saving measures for air conditioners [Preventing efficiency loss of outdoor units under the scorching sun] When direct sunlight hits the outdoor unit, combined with radiant heat from the ground, the surrounding temperature rises significantly. As a result, the outdoor unit cannot dissipate heat effectively, leading to increased electricity consumption. By installing the outdoor unit in a shaded area, its efficiency improves, resulting in energy savings. However, it is crucial that the shade does not block the ventilation openings of the outdoor unit. Poor airflow can cause the hot air released to be re-absorbed, significantly reducing cooling efficiency. Care should be taken with commercially available outdoor unit covers, as those that block ventilation openings can have the opposite effect.
